What This Service Is For
Many Indigenous clients seek counselling because they are carrying emotional pain, family stress, substance use concerns, or the impacts of trauma — both recent and intergenerational. Others come during major life transitions, such as preparing for treatment or returning home afterward. Some may also be navigating the justice system and looking for a safe, informed place to process what they’re facing.
This service provides gentle support through all of these experiences. Sessions are shaped by your priorities, your pace, and your own knowledge of what you need.
A Culturally Safe Approach
Cultural safety is central to this work. You can expect a space that respects your culture, your story, and the history that shapes your experiences today. The approach includes awareness of colonial impacts, intergenerational trauma, and the systemic barriers Indigenous people continue to face. Care is trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and focused on strengthening your voice, your confidence, and your sense of self.
You are welcome to bring cultural practices, community supports, and traditional knowledge into the work. Every part of the process is collaborative.
What You Can Expect
You will enter a confidential and respectful space where your needs, experiences, and pace shape each session. The work is gentle and collaborative, grounded in cultural safety, emotional understanding, and clear communication. Whether sessions are online or in person, you can expect consistent guidance, supportive conversation, and care that centers your strengths, identity, and overall wellbeing.
The intention is to help you feel grounded, heard, and supported as you take steps toward healing and stability.
